AUTHENTIC FASHION BRANDS WITH A MADE IN CHINA TAG

There was a time when luxury was available only to the rarefied and aristocratic world of old money and royalty. Luxury wasn't simply a product, it was a lifestyle, one that denoted a history of tradition, superior quality and offered a pampered buying experience. Today's luxury marketplace would be virtually unrecognizable to its founders. Gone are the family-owned businesses dedicated to integrity and quality; the industry is now run by multi-billion dollar global corporations focused on growth, visibility, brand-awareness, advertising and above all, profits. Handcrafted goods are practically extinct, and almost all manufacturing has been outsourced to large factories in such places as China, where your expensive brand-name handbag is being assembled right next to one from a mass-market label that will cost substantially less. "source from the Book Deluxe:(how luxury lost its luster)"
I decided to research a bit about the production of some of the most well known and desired high-end brands in the world, the other day I was discussing it with my friend who happens to be obsessed with expensive high-end brands, and she was going on and on about not liking things that come from China! "that Chinese manufacturies have done more harm than good by producing replicas of some expensive brands. I couldn't agree more on some of the points she raised, but one of the things that made me write this article is she thinks that all high-end brands are either made in Italy and that all things made in china are cheap or terrible! ( laugh out loud).

I bought this Michael Kors bag at net-a-porter.
To start with Micheal kors! very well known American brand,  moderate to highly-priced apparel, but hey look there production is in China, and I wonder If the materials used are as expensive as the price they ask for there finished products.
But of cause its made in china!
If you are a smart shopper like me, you will know that the perception of exclusivity plays a massive part in the fashion market. By setting the price higher, there is an immediate effect of making an item even more desirable to shoppers (more especially women) well versed in fighting for MUST-HAVES and copying celebrities.  High-end designers have become experts at creating the Illusion of luxury, they make us pay top dollar for goods, but we are most likely paying more for the LABEL than for luxury (quality of the products). I have seen "ugly" apparel made by some high-end brands and yet very popular among celebrities and ordinary people because of the brand name they carry.
In today s world, luxury is no longer a privileged experience, Its a public superficial forever changing and infinitely available. We are buying an image and ILLUSION, not at all quality, what we are buying into is an aura of the brand.

PRADA
Well well, the famous Prada happens to have once manufactured their products in China, I don't mind high-end brands made in China, but I do mind watching companies like Prada lower their cost of production by using China and not pass it on to their consumers or worse even raise the prices for their goods which maybe are not also half the prices they are sold for; (who knows what kind of materials they use in China) may be cheap labor?

Oh, look, its Prada! I thought its made in Italy, and it cost 1,600 euros.
MO Luxury reports Some product made in China can have the reputation as being somewhat ‘shonky’ in its final product stage (given the large and non-company owned factories) and not to the highest quality control standards that exist under company-owned manufacturing plants in, or near to their home town – HQ. Not that we believe Prada will knowingly let its standards drop to get ahead in their manufacturing and to cope with demand. However, the larger the production numbers, the more room for error in our opinion, and the luxury game the quality of the product is one of the fundamentals for success.but don't worry not all Prada bags are made in china.

BURBERRY
its Burberry china oh and s original:ps this photo is not mine
In 2006 Burberry decided to move Its production to China to save some money because it was losing out Its profits on materials for production, but after a rant from the public about their goods being expensive and still using cheap labor from China, they decided to pull out of the China factory deal.
Other brands that manufacture in China are Armani, Marc Jacobs, Dolce, and Gabbana, and the list goes on, some high-end brands won't even admit It.

 The truth
luxury brands used to matter in the olden days because you got what you paid for, nowadays everything is reduced to just the brand names, Illusion has taken its toll on us that we tend to buy things that are not even worth the price that they are sold for.
I must admit that some high-end brands still produce authentic goods.
Last but not least if you have an iPhone flip it over and check the label at the bottom
Oh, it was designed in California and assembled in China!

My conclusion is high-end brands can't survive without china! And the next time You try to trash China production, then please do flip your iPhones and Samsung or Prada bags to find out where they are manufactured.
