Marga Weiman is a dutch designer whose work has been receiving so much attention due to her colourful out of this world designs that leave much to be desired. The Suriname-Creole by roots Designer gets her inspirations from day to day fashion and architecture, her collections are broad, From haute couture to pret-รก-porter, including architecture show pieces and minimalistic dresses.
I got attracted to one collection in particular called the Wonderland from 2009, the collection which was inspired by distinctive interiors, traditional decorations, and typical architectural structures is full of exquisite colourful pieces that look like imaginary fantasy land kind of outfits. The collection attracted the Dutch Groninger Museum which decided to showcase the first major solo exhibition of her work from 15 june to 23 november. The exhibition also included her 2006 debut collection which covers the vista theme and haute couture wearable dresses that were partially made out of stiff polyester reinforced glass fibre.
